Congratulate them with the gift of Curiosity! Graduation season is just around the corner, and whether you're looking for a classic like Oh, the Places You'll Go or something more Curious, we will have the perfect gift for everyone.
May 5th is Cinco de Mayo, so we’ll be celebrating by reading books about the holiday, as well as other books celebrating Hispanic heritage, including Abuela and Hairs/Pelitos by Sandra Cisneros. Afterward, we’ll make traditional tissue paper flowers.
Everyone loves their mama, so we'll be reading stories about awesome moms, like Llama, Llama Red Pajama; Mama, Do You Love Me; Meet Me at the Moon. Then make a pretty card to thank mom for all her hard work. Happy Mother’s Day!
In celebration of Duckling month and in preparation for the Duckling Parade on Sunday, May 11th, join us to read about some of our favorite ducklings. Whether it’s Gossie and Gertie, Ping, or Make Way for Ducklings, they’ve all waddled their way into our hearts.
It seems like there’s always something getting lost: glasses, keys, that mysterious sock… Since May 23rd is National Scavenger Hunt Day we decided it’d be a great time to read stories about things getting lost (and sometimes found!), including Knuffle Bunny and I Want My Hat Back. Then, we’ll all have fun doing a scavenger hunt around the store!
Our in-house storyteller is going to pick out her favorite read-alouds for today’s storytime. There will be a mix of new favorites, like Giraffe’s Can’t Dance, and old, such as Caps for Sale. Afterward, we’ll do a craft where you can make your very own book. Maybe you can use it to have storytime for your family at home!
